Overview

The patented GENIUS PyroBubbles® flame retardant granule is suitable for lithium-ion batteries, liquids, building fire protection, cable ducts, and flammable substances of all kinds. How PyroBubbles® Work

Inerting

Dense ball packing inhibits substance transport and effectively prevents the formation of flammable mixtures.

Cooling

Granules absorb energy via thermal capacity, reducing the temperature of escaping gases and vapours to prevent spontaneous combustion.

Condensation

Vapours are cooled below their boiling point and condense on the granules.

Adsorption

Vapours and liquids accumulate on the porous surface and can be disposed of in a bound manner.

Extinguishing Different Fire Types

Lithium-ion Battery Fires

PyroBubbles® are ideally suited as dry extinguishing agents for Li-ion battery fires — a direct replacement for water or foam. They cover the burning material, reduce combustible reaction gases through their pore structure, absorb thermal energy via high specific heat capacity, and shield combustible material through low thermal conductivity.

Metal Fires

PyroBubbles® handle metal fires burning at extremely high temperatures (e.g. magnesium at >2,000°C) without difficulty. They melt to glass and form a sealed layer over the fire. Unlike metal fire powder, PyroBubbles® leave no oxidising residue — metal parts nearby do not rust, and the media is fully reusable by vacuum or shovel.

Flammable Liquid Fires

PyroBubbles® float and spread evenly on burning liquids — gasoline, oil, kerosene — forming a heat-absorbent layer that prevents re-ignition. They are independent of liquid polarity, making them effective on alcohols and ketones. They are electrically non-conductive and a proven eco-friendly alternative to AFFF/fluorinated foaming agents.

BengaloSafe® — Bengalo Torch Events

The BENGALOSAFE® container is filled with PyroBubbles® and positioned at stadium edges or carried by security personnel in portable units (from ~5.5 kg). A lit torch is pressed in — inerting and cooling extinguish it in seconds. Uncontaminated PyroBubbles® are fully reusable.

PyroBubbles® fill cable trays, installation shafts, and cavities — horizontal or vertical — in bulk form. A complete F 90 fire protection upgrade can be implemented at any time in existing buildings or new facilities, with near-zero ongoing maintenance costs.

Plants & Production

In foundry, metallurgy, and sensitive production areas, PyroBubbles® can be deployed via silo containers to protect expensive equipment. The reusable extinguishing media causes no damage, avoiding long production downtimes.

Energy Supply & Transformers

PyroBubbles® protect transformers of all sizes — from small units to large 380 kV transformers with 125 tonnes of oil. Ideal for upgrading fire protection on existing energy infrastructure.

Specialty Chemicals

Proven results for triethylaluminium (TEA), silane compounds, and thermite fires. PyroBubbles® safely enclose these difficult fires and make them manageable via silo containers or portable extinguishers.

Water-neutral & food-safe

PyroBubbles® contain only very few water-soluble components. pH value ranges between 7 and 9 — equivalent to a normal hand-wash soap solution. Conductivity <150 μS/cm (permitted limit: 1,500 μS/cm per drinking water regulation).
